It has been a testing festive schedule for Burnley but Sean Dyche’s team have come through it with lots of positives, although injuries to key players marred another fine fight-back on Thursday.
Newcastle took the lead three times at St James’ Park and three times Dyche’s men found incredible reserves of strength, grit and determination to secure an important point.
A 3-3 draw at Newcastle would be a credible result in any circumstances, but considering Dyche had to use all three of his substitutions in the first 35 minutes, the performance his patched-up team put in after the break was scarcely believable.
